Moon is the story of astronaut Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell), who is working solo on a mining station on the moon, with only his robot helper GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacey) for company. He is almost at the end of his three year contract, and aching to go home to his wife and daughter. Then strange things start happening on the moonbase, and he discovers that Lunar Industries has not been telling him the whole truth...

This is about all I can say of the plot without going into spoiler territory. Rockwell does a good job carrying the load of the story, nicely supported by Spacey. The quiet mood with ambiguous undertones is reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Moon is a great little movie, and the perfect example of what can be achieved on the strength of idea, script, and acting, without the need for big sets or elaborate effects. Recommended for those who like intriguing psychological drama.
